You ever been driving on the road and a lit cigarette comes flying at you from the car ahead? Sure, it has. It amazes me how many people think that a cigarette butt is no big deal and they don’t consider it littering.
In fact, cigarette filters are made of plastic cellulose acetate, and it takes years for cigarette butt litter to decompose.
Not to mention, cigarette butts harm animals and causes millions of dollars annually in property damage and resources to help fight these fires.
I’m not saying, don’t smoke, just use an ashtray!! Over 175 million pounds of cigarette butts are tossed on our roadways every year in the U.S. So if you smoke, DON’T TOSS! Remember, “Only you can’t prevent forest fires, only you.”
